Exams
The basics:
- There will be oral exams at the end of the semester.
- You can suggest a date and I will try to make this possible.
- From September 2 on, exams will be online, since I will be in the US.
- Please register on lsf before taking the exam
What to expect:
- I am interested in checking whether you understand the important concepts and whether you can apply them.
- Basic questions might be: "What is a Bayesian network and what can we do with it?", "How can we find out whether A implies B?", or "What is a linear SCM and what can we model with it?".
- Take the initiative and answer more than one sentence!
- More advanced questions might be: "How can we check for independence?", "How hard is it to compute marginal probabilities in BN?" or "What is HTC and how can we check it?"
- I might ask proof ideas, but I do not expect full proofs.
What not to expect:
-
Full proofs with many details.
-
